What is our offer?
The ECL Supported Employment team fully supports job candidates every step of the way to ensure they are confident and ready for work; their help includes:
- CV writing, completing job applications, and interview preparation.
- Sourcing relevant training, volunteer, and work experience opportunities.
- Settling newly appointed employees into their roles; for example, practising their journey to work, supporting with on-boarding paperwork and induction training.
- Providing on-the-job coaching until the employee is fully independent in their role.
- Providing a point of contact to both employers and employees, helping placements succeed and grow over time
ECL also has a dedicated employer engagement team who collaborate with employers across Essex, guiding them to confidently recruit, support, and retain employees with learning disabilities and/or autism.
The support they provide includes:
- Engaging potential employers to understand their recruitment needs and recommending candidates who are a strong fit.
- Providing guidance to employers on how to make reasonable adjustments and become a disability confident employer. Advising on support available from government initiatives.
- Offering ongoing support after placement to help employers and employees maintain a strong, successful working relationship.
