About the Skills Bootcamp

The Repair, Refurb and Retrofit Skills Bootcamp allows learners to refresh existing trade skills and develop new practical abilities.

Through guided, workplace‑focused training, learners gain confidence and prepare for employment in roles such as multi‑trade operatives.

Why Stuart joined the Skills Bootcamp

Stuart chose the Bootcamp to build on his existing skills while gaining new experience that could help him progress into work.

“I’ve been brushing up on skills and have learnt some new things.”

His experience on the Course

Stuart enjoyed the programme and appreciated the supportive tutors who helped him build both confidence and practical ability.

“It’s been fun, it’s been a good learning curve.”

“Everyone is really nice here, the teachers are really good, Debbie is brilliant, she’s helped me out loads.”

He particularly enjoyed the tiling element of the course.

Future plans

Stuart is aiming for a role with the local council, focusing on property maintenance and multi‑trade work.

“I would really like to work for the local council afterwards and repair houses and I would like to be a multi trader. I really like tiling.”
