About the Skills Bootcamp

 

The Intro to Blender Skills Bootcamp from Mastered Studios is a two‑part course designed for creative professionals who want to expand their technical and business skills.

 

The first part introduces learners to the core principles of 3D modelling using Blender - including modelling objects, lighting, shading and rendering.

 

The second part focuses on business development, helping creative freelancers strengthen their branding, marketing and business strategy.

 

Why Mike joined the Skills Bootcamp

 

Mike is a videographer and filmmaker who wanted to evolve his creative toolkit and regain momentum in his business after a challenging year.

 

“I decided to join the course as I wanted to add a new skill that may set me apart as a videographer and filmmaker, also due to some personal issues I had last year I let the business side of my work fall by the wayside. I had no website, my online presence was poor, I needed to make a change.”

 

What did he enjoy most during the course?

 

“The whole course has been fascinating, Blender is an amazing piece of software and has so many applications from filmmaking to interior design, I found this to be extremely valuable going forward. The business side has been just as interesting and has been a real eye-opener in terms of the many resources now available to businesses to allow them to grow.”

 

What skills or confidence has Mike gained during the Skills Bootcamp?

“I have a much better understanding of:

• how to leverage business support from AI systems
• branding and how best to present myself online and in person to the world of business
• honed my “elevator pitch” so I can succinctly communicate what I do to prospective clients in one or two sentences
• and as far as Blender itself is concerned…the sky’s the limit!”

“It opened my eyes to how slack I’d become in terms of promoting my services, so with the encouragement of my appointed business mentors I built a new website, I joined LinkedIn which is a good channel for speaking to potential clients, plus of course adding a new skill to my toolkit in the form of Blender.”
