SECTA is a ESF under 25 project that fully funds and supports enrolled clients getting a job in construction.
We fully fund the process of getting a CSCS Card, by funding the Health and Safety in construction course as well as the CITB test.
SECTA also orders the CSCS card, and offers free PPE such as Helmet, Boots and Hi Vis vest. SECTA has other incentives such as a £10 voucher to help you revise for the CITB test, as well as a £30 voucher for getting a job and another £30 voucher for being employed for 3 months.
We also offer extra support such as Math’s and English, as well as CV writing and help regarding interviews.
We can also fund and support extra training such as Traffic Marshalling and PASMA.

We are very flexible, and client focused and will do our upmost to focus on getting out clients employed and fully trained with CSCS cards.
We support School leavers and young adults looking to enrol 18–24-year-olds.
We work with companies that have opportunities such as work Experience/Study Programmes and want to fast track our clients to get a CSCS cards so that they can then take the opportunities we can help provide.
We are in contact with companies with Apprenticeships and will encourage and support clients to contact companies to apply for apprenticeships and full-time roles.
We are unable to fund Higher Education but encourage clients to seek higher education so that they can get a specialist blue skilled card. We offer training like Traffic Marshalling and PASMA for example to make our clients more desirable and qualified to work on a construction site.
We can only enrol 18-24 years olds and we support Adult learners with our contacts at Southend Adult Community college, we can refer and support clients with maths and English and other courses. If you have Professional Qualifications, we can use that to get you a higher level CSCS card, but we are unable to fund expensive degree courses.
We offer Support for Employers by informing our clients of job vaccines as soon as they are sent to us. We also support companies that have clients that need to renew their CSCS card.

Case Study: Lucy
Lucy registered with SECTA when her career at that time was a Childs Party Host but Lucy was determined to secure a role in construction, looking for any opportunity to help her take the first steps to get into the industry.
Lucy completed her Level 1 Health and Safety Awareness and Labourers CSCS Card and passed with flying colours. Lucy received 1:1 mentoring and support from SECTA. Through the support that she received, Lucy built up her confidence and skills to start looking for her ideal role within construction. Lucy found her dream role as a Trainee Asbestos Consultant for Environtec Ltd, and had an interview booked! She received mock interviews and felt confidant and prepared for her interview the next day.
Within 3 weeks of joining the programme, Lucy secured a job! She had successfully impressed the employers at her interview and secured the role as a Trainee Asbestos Consultant.
She has now completed her training, has thrived in her role and is now a qualified Asbestos Consultant!
